Happy Monday Saint Peter Claver Family!
A little boy came up to a priest friend of mine after Mass on Christmas Eve and asked him, “Where is the star?”
The church has a large Nativity with Joseph, Mary, Baby Jesus, a couple of animals all in a large wooden crèche.
It is surrounded by tall Christmas trees full of white lights.
But as the little boy pointed out, there is no star.
The star is one of my favorite parts of the Christmas Story.
I love how God reveals Himself to us through things in nature.
God gave all peoples of the Earth the Gift of His Son.
Through the star, God led the wise men from far lands to come and honor the Christ Child, the Son of God.
Not too long ago three planets aligned in the night sky and it was talked about on the news of how it shined as bright as the Christmas Star must have shined.
It was seen all around the world.
God is constantly revealing His love to us still.
Rise up in splendor Jerusalem! Your light has come, the glory of the Lord shines upon you. See, darkness covers the earth, and thick clouds cover the peoples; but upon you the LORD shines… Isaiah 60:1-2
This coming Sunday’s First Reading at Mass starts with these two verses.
Take some time this week and pray with these Scripture verses, replacing the name Jerusalem with your own name.
Let God reveal Himself to you personally through these words, for your Light has come.
The Lord does shine upon you.
Continued Christmas blessings!
