What a beautiful few days we’ve had – no wind and temps in the low 70’s.
I hope you got to get out and enjoy it with your family or with friends.
Saturday morning I sat outside a bakery with a friend enjoying some yummy treats and a coffee.
Yesterday after all the Faith Formation Sessions I walked across the parking lot to clean up the Youth Center and walked slower on my way back enjoying the beautiful day.
Now I hear I get to look forward to a couple of rainy days this week – I love those too!
A long-time friend texted me asking how do you not be drowned by all the darkness in life and how do you maintain your faithfulness through all these years?
I texted back, let’s get together and I’ll tell you!
One of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit is Wonder and Awe.
Think about each of those two words, wonder…awe. Now connect them with encounters with God.
As I sat outside in the sun Saturday morning I could feel the wonder and awe of God in the beautiful morning sun and blue sky, and I could feel it through time with a good friend and the deep conversation we had.
As I walked across the parking lot yesterday, I could fee the wonder and awe of God again in the warm sun on my aching back, in the deep blue sky, and in the quiet after a very busy morning.
I will tell my longtime friend about how the Gift of Wonder and Awe helps me maintain my faithfulness.
This coming Sunday’s First Mass Reading ends with this verse:
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? Who will go for us?"
"Here I am," I said; "send me!"
Isaiah 6:8
I can hear the Lord asking through my friend’s text, “Whom shall I send? Who will go?”
We don’t have to go on a mission trip to hear and answer the Lord’s call to bring His love to others.
If we listen, we can hear that call all around us.
I say here I am Lord, help me to bring Your Love to those around me!
What do you say when He asks you whom He should send?
Blessings to you!
