Last week I learned that my uncle is dying of stomach cancer.
Last week I made a video of myself giving a message of love and prayers to a friend who’s my age who is also dying of cancer.
Both of these people in my life are people who believe Jesus is the Bread of Life.
Sunday my uncle’s family had a gathering of family and friends to celebrate him, which began with Mass and Anointing of the Sick for him and my aunt.
My friend has reassured her family that she is close with Jesus and Mary and knows God is caring for her.
Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life.
John 6:47-48
Reading this coming Sunday’s Gospel reading with my uncle and my friend on my mind brings me peace.
They both believe that Jesus is the Bread of Life.
They both want to keep themselves close to Him and receive Him in the Eucharist as long as they are physically able.
They find comfort in the eternal life with Him to come.
Let’s talk with Jesus and keep ourselves close to Him too. When we receive Communion at Mass this coming weekend, let’s show we believe we are receiving Jesus, the Bread of Life by looking the person giving us the host in the eyes and saying a strong, “Amen.”
Blessings of Jesus to you!
