I got knocked down with a cold.
Yesterday and today I have been home sick.
I live alone.
Today I am feeling very lonely. That is a feeling I feel often.
My energy is slowing coming back, so I fired up my computer and read this coming Sunday’s Mass readings so that I could write this to you.
Look at this very first line of the first Reading:
The LORD God said: "It is not good for the man to be alone.” Genesis 2:18a
Wow. Thank you for always caring for us God.
The person that gets up very early, works all day, then gets home late – you are not alone, God sees you.
The parents that are making meals, doing laundry, driving kids to all the places they need to be – you are not alone, God sees you.
Grandparents that are caring for their grandchildren while their parents work – you are not alone, God sees you.
Priests that celebrate morning Mass, go to hospitals to anoint and pray with people, have appointments and meetings – you are not alone, God sees you.
Children going to school, who worry about their parents, who have lots of energy – you are not alone, God sees you.
Our God loves and sees each and every one of us. He knows it is not good for us to be alone.
Let’s make sure we are slowing down enough to really see those around us, remembering that we can be God’s care for others through our words and actions.
Blessings of God seeing you!
