I have seen and felt Jesus these past few days!
At the Holy Thursday Mass I saw a mom, her little 6- or 7-year-old son, and their Catechist sitting next to each other as Father Riz washed their feet.
Jesus showed us how to be humble through the washing of the feet – humble to have our feet washed and humble to do the washing.
On Good Friday I felt so blessed to wait in line to honor the Cross at the service.
I noticed people who looked sad, some crying, as they reached out to touch the Cross.
I could feel Jesus’ presence, showing us how to trust and persevere through His agony on the Cross.
On Holy Saturday I was asked to help by serving as a Eucharistic Minister. It was such an honor to look into people’s eyes as I held Jesus up in the Eucharist and said, “The Body of Christ” with a smile.
Easter Sunday morning my brother texted me that my little niece asked him if Tia Laura was coming to Mass with them. I was on my way to Thousand Oaks! It was great sitting with my niece who is 8 and my nephew who is 10, telling them about what was happening.
Of course I then had to go to their house to see all that the Easter Bunny brought them, including chocolate crosses because Jesus rose. (That’s what they said!)
Thomas, called Didymus, one of the Twelve, was not with them when Jesus came. So the other disciples said to him, "We have seen the Lord."
John 20:24-25a
In this coming Sunday’s Gospel reading, we will hear the story of the resurrected Jesus appearing to the apostles and how Thomas wasn’t there. The other disciples who did see Jesus told Thomas about it.
Where and have you seen Jesus? How have you felt His presence?
As we continue to celebrate Easter, tell your family and your friends how you have seen and felt Jesus. We are now the disciples who need to tell those who haven’t seen or felt Him about our experiences.
Easter blessings of Jesus’ peace!
