It’s been a while since I’ve sat down to write to you.
School is out! Summer vacation in Simi Valley has begun!
Are you relieved? Excited?
Summer is my favorite time of the year.
I like the longer days.
I like doing all sorts of outdoor things without worrying about trying to stay warm or dry.
I like less cars on the road in the morning and afternoon because school is out.
Summer brings more time spent with family and friends. I love all the conversations and laughter shared.
For me summer also is time I grow closer to God.
I find myself reflecting with Him on my life and how I am serving Him.
How can I grow in my personal relationship with Him?
What else can I be doing at Saint Peter Claver to help support people in their relationship with Him?
What blessings fill my life that I want to thank God for and not take for granted?
What struggles do I need to humbly come to Him with and surrender to His care?
I, the LORD, bring low the high tree, lift high the lowly tree, wither up the green tree, and make the withered tree bloom.
Ezekiel 17:24
In this coming Sunday’s First Reading God tells us of His care for us. He will humble me, lift me up, wither up things in me like my pride when needed, and will help me to grow in my relationship with Him, which will help me in my work in serving Him.
As you begin these summer months, take some time to reflect on your relationship with God. Let Him care for you as you relax a bit.
Blessings of God's care!
